Another successful Terry Fox run was held in Liverpool on yesterday (Sunday).
About 30 people registered for the run which left from Queens Place.
Pledges and donations were raised for cancer.
Organizer Robyn Anthony told the Pulse “it was nice to see people running and getting donations to the cause.”
Today is September 14th Terry Fox Sunday.
The annual Terry Fox run will take place in Liverpool today.
It will leave from Queens Place and that is where the registration will take place.
The weather should be decent for this event.
There are but two weekends left this summer…,.this one and next weekend.
When the Yarmouth Ferry returned this spring a lot of people and businesses around Queens and elsewhere were very pleased.
But the return has been anything but successful.
The figures say differently.
The Ferry line wanted to do 100,000 passengers in traffic.
That seemed high when the ferry started and will come nowhere near that figure.
The 21 million dollar loan which was supposed to last seven years got all used up within a few months and that’s taxpayer money.
Now the ferry folks say it will shut down early.
Not exactly a vote of confidence, is it?
Not a good first year.
It makes one wonder if there will be a year two?
